Y'know, one way I was thinking of how keep the Mario Party franchise fresh would of been to be pass the Party to other notable Nintendo Franchises. Perhaps franchises that either were having a down time or what have you.

Perhaps during the gamecube era, there could of been a trilogy of Donkey Kong Party games.

Play as the 7 previously playable Kongs, have Kranky be the Toad of this series, where he instructs you what to do and such. Have Swanky have his own shop to sell you items (he could also guide mini games), and for the first time ever, have Candy and Funky join in the game?

Would you of liked a Donkey Kong Party? And, any ideas for the execution of it?

I was never very interested in the Mario Party games, but I'd certainly have bought (and would surely still buy) a DK Party game.

Giving other franchises the Mario spinoff treatment could have been huge for Nintendo – and perhaps still could be!

Looking at the details of Mario Party 4, the first Mario Party game on the gamecube, up to 8 characters and 6 game boards. Applying that knowledge to the idea of Donkey Kong having that spotlight, 8 characters to choose from would be just perfect. Choose between the 7 stars of previous Donkey Kong games, then have Mario as the 8th playable character, considering how Donkey Kong had also guested in Mario's Party games.

With the 6 game boards, oh man, they could get really creative with a minecart-based board, or one that relies on barrel cannons. And for simply just the atmosphere, a Crocodile Isle-themed board would be such bliss, while also providing a wealth of opportunity in gameplay.

Love the idea of exploring the most out of the different Nintendo franchises outside of Mario. Speaking of which, Donkey Kong Tennis has a nice ring to it.
