Does anyone know why Kiddy's name is Dinky Kong?

Kiddy's name is Dinky in Japan.
Probably to stay with the DK initials.
Though DKL3 has his name as Kiddy...

Kiddy Kong is only called Dinky Kong (ディンキーコング) in the Japanese version, just like in the Japanese version of DKC3. Indeed, the Japanese version of DKL3 is titled "Donkey Kong GB: Dinky Kong & Dixie Kong" (ドンキーコングGB ディンキーコング&ディクシーコング).

As for why they changed it, I have no idea...
