*facepalm* You can't see System files until you've enabled it. I thought maybe you knew how to do that, but I guess I wasn't specific enough...
In windows explorer, go to tools > Folder Options > View
Select "Show Hidden files and folders"
Uncheck "Hide Protected Operating System files" and click Yes to warning it gives you.
Click OK
The files will then show up as transparent, and you can then change them back to visible by
right-click > "Change Attributes...". The Change Attributes option is what got added by that program.
EDIT: Eh... I feel sorta bad for leading you down a technical rabbit hole, but it's probably good for experience nonetheless.
