Here's my idea for a Super Smash Bros. 4 roster. It has 54 characters, 5 rows by 11 columns, plus the random spot. All 35 characters from Brawl will return, except for Lucario, so there's 20 new characters.

All new characters are italicized, and all locked characters are Blue.

1= I need another Zelda character, but I don't know much about the series, so maybe someone else has ideas. Perhaps Tingle, or Midna?
2= Another Metroid character, same as above. Perhaps Dark Samus?
4= This would be a new pokemon that hasn't come out yet to fill Lucario's place.
5= Another Earthbound character. I don't know.
8= Another 3rd party character, can't decide who. Either Megaman, Crash Bandicoot, Bomberman, or Earthworm Jim, or someone else.
3, 6, 7= For these three, I would want some Nintendo character whose franchise has not yet been represented. Like an Animal Crossing character. I might also put a new Kirby character in, but I don't know who.

Who's Sucker? And are you sure Glover isn't a third party character? I don't know, I thought he was. Maybe that Chi-bi Robo guy thing? Katamari might be cool, but he's definately third party.

Yes, it is. Sucker is an green alien with glowy yellow eyes, legless stubby feet, and a purple suit. He's got a big grey headband like thing on his head with a train whistle sticking out and a bunch of different shapes on the front. His headband thing sucks things up like a vacuum and he uses it to suck the ball up, turn it into glass, and spit it high into the air so that it hits the ground and brakes. He makes strange noises that sound like baby noises, but more alienish.

OK, if Glover's not a third party than I agree he should be in. And I think that a character from Animal Crossing should be in, but I don't know any names of characters.

I meant yes, Glover is 3rd party, but so is Pac-Man. There'd be a ton of possibilities for moves for Glover, probably even more than Pac-Man.

I would probably make this 59 characters, with 6 rows of 10, and then one left over for the RANDOM button.

Dixie? No. We already have Diddy and DK, the next should be an animal buddy, like maybe Squitter or Rambi.

You're kidding, right? Dixie currently holds the position of fourth most important character to the DK series. After K. Rool, adding an animal buddy instead of adding Dixie would be ludicrous.

On that note.... I don't even think Dixie would really have a full moveset, unless they used rubbishy stuff from her recent games. :/

Well there's no rule to say a Smash Bros. move has to be pre-existing in the character's repertoir... Captain Falcon's a good example of a fighter with 100% SSB invented moves. That said, even as a relatively 'complex' animal buddy, Squitter would have a tough time filling out a moveset, and Rambi? Heh, they'd have to get pretty darn inventive. But then again, as I've mentioned in the past; if Kirby can have all those different abilities (when he's basically just a lumpy marshmallow), anything's possible.

I've just had this weird thought of Squitter standing on two feet, just so he can strike a fighting pose like the other characters. Plus he'd have six arms to do battle with!

I do like the thought of having an animal buddy in there as a proper playable character, though. It'd sort of fill the 'barmy' character role, just as Mr. Game and Watch, and a certain Brawl character did before.

It'll be interesting to see how many characters have undergone changes in design in their own games, come the next Smash Brothers. Because then Smash Brothers would probably adopt those new styes. I think the Zelda characters might get some big stylistic changes in the meantime; I'm fairly certain of that!

There'd be lots of moves for Squitter:
B: Charge up a web that gets bigger and bigger (kinda like Samus's blaster)
B+Right/Left: Tie up and trap opponents in a web.
B+Down: Web platforms
B+Up: Shoot web up to the cieling, swing on it, and run into opponents.
A+Down: Spin on ground
A+Right/Left: Rapidly punch opponent with one arm after the other.
A/A+Up: Shoot web

SummerSky, I think that Game and Watch type character would be Mii.

As for Dixie, yeah, she might not have a lot of moves, but they made up a few for Diddy. Here's a good moveset:
UP-B= Helicopter spin, with lots of vertical propulsion.
Side-B= Monkey Charge- she just charges forward at people.
Down-B= Sideways spin, like what she does in the game.
B-Neutral= Whip down ward with hair.
Final Smash= Here are my ideas:
1) Tornado spin, she starts spinning and forms a full sized tornado, which you can direct in any direction, and it sucks people in and spits them out.
2) She rides on the Hovercraft from DKC3, and sends people flying. It controls kinda like sonic's Super Sonic, where it moves any direction somewhat clumsily.
3) Kiddy Kong drops down, and she can throw him at any one and they go flying.

About Animal Buddies, I think that their shouldn't be any playable ones, but I think they should change DK's final smash so that he rides on Rambi. He could run and jump around, hitting people, and knocking them back. Also, on one of the new DK stages they should have an animal buddy crate with one of the animal buddies in it.

I don't think 4 DK characters is pushing it, I mean, there's 4 Starfox characters. We might need to put another Kirby character in there though....

I think the only team characters should be the Ice Climbers. Any other team ups such as Dixie-Kiddy and Baby Mario-Baby Luigi, no matter how cool they would be, would ruin the Ice Climber's style... unless they made Popo and Nana separate characters, of course.

And now that I've seen Squitter's moveset, I suppose he could be playable, as long as he didn't replace Dixie or K. Rool.

I think you really want Spiderman in the game, rather than Squitter. That's the impression I get from your moveset (and from SummerSky's mention of bipedal orientation). Squitter on two legs sounds like a bizarre concept to me, but only because I love his low-to-the-ground style as it is. Would he still wear his full compliment of sneakers in arachnida erectus mode? Maybe he could wear boxing gloves instead?

Dixie Kong is way more important than any animal buddy. This isn't about the character that is more fun to play as, it's about proper representation of each franchise, and Dixie is more important. If we were going to do an animal buddy, we'd have to do Rambi, even though Squitter would work better. Rambi is the most iconic animal buddy, thus he is the most important to the DK franchise. We shouldn't have a playable animal buddy though, make Rambi DK's Final Smash, and Squitter an assist trophy.

Out of all my ideas for Dixie's Final Smash, I like the Hovercraft idea the best. Even though she is most remembered for her role in DKC2, DKC3 was her first and only starring role, so that needs some representation in her moveset.

I thought about making Diddy and Dixie a team, like the ice climbers, and you could switch between them like Zelda and Shiek, plus you could throw the other one at people and stuff like that. But than I thought that that would kinda be downgrading Diddy as his own character in Brawl, and then being more like half a character. So then I thought I'd do the same with Dixie and Kiddy, but they don't treat the DK series that good to have that many playable characters, let alone revive Kiddy Kong from the dead. Plus Kiddy's not that popular within the DK series to be playable.

Oh, and Squitter on two feet with boxing gloves? No, just no.

I was reading through the old Bitching About Brawl articles on DKU the other day, and Bob O. had one idea that really interested me. Mr. Virtual Boy. If they can create a character for the Game and Watch games, then I think that they should do the same for Virtual Boy, and replace him.

Also, if it's at all possible, I think they should take Snake out. As long as Snake is in every fanboy on the internet is gonna be complainging about wanting stupid 3rd party characters. They should keep it to huge icons, like Sonic and Pacman.

Another idea, for Pokemon, I already have Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Pokemon Trainer, Rival, and New Pokemon from the next generation. I think that they need one more, but I'm not sure who it should be. Either Eevee, with the ability to evolve into anyone of his three original forms, Ditto, with the ability to swallow a character sorta like Kirby, and then become a Pink version of that Character, with all the same moves as that character, OR another pokemon, I can't think of anything else.

I don't care who else gets in, as long as those do. I mean Pac-Man, Glover, and Sucker would have an awesome moveset. Especialy Glover: He's a glove with a ball, and the power to change any object's material (Plus the Death Spell and Frog Spell thing). How can he not have a good moveset?
B: Death Spell
B+Right/Left: Slap ball into opponents
B+Down: Bounce ball
B+Up: Change ball's material (Rubber, Bowling, Metal, Crystal)
A: Spin ball on fingertip
A+Right/Left: Cartwheel into opponents
A+Down: Fist Slam
A+Up: Throw ball up
Final Smash: Frog Spell (Turn opponents into frogs)

I'm still not sure who the Pokemon should be in this game. I think that they need 6, but I can't decide who. Here's my ideas so far:
Pikachu
Pokemon Trainer: with Charizard, Ivysaur, and Squirtle.
Rival: with Blastoise, and either Graveler, Donphan, Houndoom, or Sudowoodo, and either Elekid, or Snover
New Pokemon: this would replace Lucario, and it would be from the next generation.
?: This would replace Jigglypuff, I was thinking some sort of legendary, like bringing Mewtwo back, maybe Lugia, or perhaps Deoxys
?: This would be some Pokemon with some kind of really cool ability, like Eevee or Ditto.
What do you guys think of these ideas?

...What? Sorry Joe Minga, but nobody could ever replace Jigglypuff. I know she's kind of stupid, but she's been in every game in the series. She's really stood the test of time.

I think it would be really cool if Master Hand was playable in Smash Bros. 4. Come on, you know it would be cool!

I can't for the life of me figure out why Jigglypuff has been in it this long. SOMEBODY has to replace her eventually. Nothing lasts forever....

I'm not sure about Master Hand. He would be cool, but their are only a certain number of characters that can get in.
