Well, E3 starts next week so the news and rumors should be pouring in anytime now. So, this is the place to discuss it. Remember, only post real news and rumors, not predictions and/or speculation. We already have a thread for that.

Okay, thanks! I'm not going to E3 (I just learned about it, and nobody in my family knows what it is), so it would really help if you guys posted what was announced.

Well, I doubt anybody on the forum will be going because they have the new policy of only inviting the industry and the press. But if you want to know what happens you can watch it this week on the G4 network at varying times, and if you don't have G4 you can usually find each press conference on Youtube. And if you can't use Youtube we'll be posting any major announcements.

Well, the Microsoft press conference just ended. Worthy announcements:
-A new dashboard interface.
-"Avatars", apparantly designed by Rare, similar to Miis but much more customisable.
-A new "party" system, in which your friends online(now represented by avatars) can group together to share photos, play Uno, or watch movies.
-New exclusive video contracts from NBC and Universal studios, and also now you can have Netflix on your XBox.
-They showed Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Resident Evil 5, Banjo Buildie, Viva Pinata 2, Scene it 2, etc.
-An interesting new casual game called "You're in the Movies", in which you do different minigames in front of the Xbox vision camera, and footage of you is then automatically made into a funny little movie.
-Showed off Guitar Hero World Tour, with new guitar and new drums. The drums differ from the Rock Band drums because they only have three drum pads, and then 2 cymbals.
-Final Fantasy XIII

Are those all the announcements for today? I'm wondering what was announced for Nintendo...

When did you watch that? Where I live, the E3 coverage doesn't start till 7....

@CaptainEddie: It was on from one to three for me.

@Gamerboy: That was just the Microsoft press conference. The Nintendo and Sony ones are tomorrow.

Yeah, nevermind. It turns out that it was on from 11 to like, 1 or something and I just missed it.

Edit: Well, Nintendo's confrence just ended. They announced:
-A snowboard game
-WiiMotion Plus
-Wii Sports Resort
-Wii Music
-DS games
Nothing about Donkey Kong!

-Animal Crossing City Folk, with brand new voice chat device Wii Speak.
-Grand Theft Auto for DS!
-Guitar Hero On Tour Decades. Already?
-New features for DS.
Nothing else. I was very dissapointed, underwhelmed, and unimpressed. That's right all of those things.

Are you kidding me? That's all the things announced for Nintendo? I hope there will be more for Nintendo in a couple days, because that "Big game" can't be a guitar hero or animal crossing game, it should be a mario/DK game or some other great game, or I'm going to do something unspeakable.

Sony press conference:
-new 80g PS3 with all the features of the 40g for only $399.
-New movie download service launched today.
-New Ratchet and Clank Size Matters PSP bundle.
-New Lego Batman PS2 bundle.
-God of War 3

I seen this coming. You can always count on Nintendo to disappoint. The only game that I have a slight interest in is the new Animal Crossing game.

I don't know, AC is probably quite a large franchise in their eyes, since it would be a sort of huge online community... it would finally allow online voice-chat, that Brawl could have used.

Well, they might just want to keep their really good things a secret.

Well, I'd keep my eyes open the next 2 days. In 2006 they had that big presentation of Nintendogs, and then the next day they announced Brawl as an afterthought. I think, or at least hope they wouldn't leave us hanging like this with absolutley no hardcore games.

Yeah, there was nothing about DK or Mario. Instead we got Pokemon.

I was surprised they weren't showing Mario Party 9.

Yeah, they mostly just said how great their systems are selling.

Wow, Nintendo's press conference sucked. Muchly.

I'm calling it now: Next year, the only game we will get is Wii Play Video Games. It's a game about playing games, except all you get to do is sit there and watch your Mii play a random WiiWare title. Wahoo.

Alrighty then. Should come out after, what, four E3's? I'm excited as heck about these, but... I wouldn't count on them coming out anytime soon, folks.

Well, this makes me very happy indeed. I like all of those titles.

Well, by reading it it seems obvious that none of those are confirmed. But it did confirm that each of those teams are working on something right now. And they said that they don't want to show it if it's not ready, which could be why we didn't see anything good.

Like I said, all the good things are being kept secret.
