Donkey Kong Country 2 Acapella

Hey everyone!

Something that I seriously want to do crazy badly is replace every single audio file in Donkey Kong Country 2. I want to do a complete vocal remix of every single song and sound effect in the game. Mostly because it would be fun to do, and because it would be a hilarious way to play the game. However, one slight issue; I have no idea how to even go about replacing the sound files in a ROM. If anyone has any idea how to do this, please fill me in. I've made a few songs already, and they're coming along quite nicely. Thanks in advance!

In order for the songs to fit in a SNES ROM, they'd have to have the same limitation as the audio in the original game. That wouldn't be much of a problem for the sound effects, they'd just sound as lowfi as the rest of the sounds. But loading an entire song as one sample? Forget it. You'd have to make that modification with Simion's resource editor if it's capable of that

Hmmm, so it'll be much harder and/or more impossible than expected, eh?

Your only hope is to replace all the samples in the game with a sung note version of the sample using SPCTool

By that point, do you think it would be even noticeable that it's actually a voice?

It should be.

It'd make a good prank. "That's a nice DKC2 ROM you're downloading. It'd be a shame if there was something funny about it :dk-tf: "
