Yeah, I just previously had IE6 and upon opening new links they just wouldn't open at all. Kicking me on and off. etc. Firefox seems a little safer, and overall has a better feel. Qyz has a point too, at least it makes browsing the site/forum better.

AND SPELL CHECK!

I hope you like it.

I had a real problem out of it for awhile. Everytime I browsed myspace it would crash. It doesnt react well to flash, but I downloaded a flash-blocker add on, and it works perfect :D

Pure evil. Internet Explorer isn't standards compliant, or so I've heard. Can't you just have both Firefox and IE on the same computer? Just leave IE as the default browser but keep Firefox installed. You use Firefox, they use IE... Problem solved.

But with parents, nothing is that simple. :?

Gah! Those unenlightened- erm, that is to say...

What a bummer. Convincing parents to change programs is even trickier. Maybe Simion's suggestion would be the best - that way you can keep IE as the default for your parents' sake, and you can just open Firefox whenever you want to surf. Sounds like a win-win to me... Although your parents could win even harder if they weren't so stubborn. ;)

Indeed, gushing. Of course, that's one of the very best reasons to switch to Firefox. :)

I have IE7. Though I have McAfee, so I don't think I need to worry about those viruses you guys mention. Spell check would be nice though.

Yeah, IE7 is better than IE6 and AOL, but Firefox really does the best job. It makes all the difference to how DKC Atlas is presented, trust me! If you like the look of the site as it is, treat yourself to a glimpse at it through Firefox.

...all artwork looks better with the right frame. ← Oh, decent metaphor! ;)

Precisely.

Art is an interpretation... DKC Atlas is solid fact.

Kinda.

You know, for 6 years I used IE since my dad introduced me to FF. It was faster, had a Download Manager pre-installed, a lot of add-ons (including Themes, and there are 3 in Firefox's official add-on page that resemble the IE interface!, I have one ;)), a better pop-up blocker, a safe mode.

Once I was traveling in YT with IE and Flash currently stopped working, it told me so, the Adoble Flash stopped working and then it told me the regular Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Months later it happened again but with Firefox, instead of throwing me an error, it told me something like: A script in this page has stopped working, do you want to continue executing the script or terminate it? I terminate it and I could continue like normal =D

Nice reminder, Kiddy; I'd forgotten about that! I'm quite looking forward to the new Firefox, so I'll make sure to do my part in assisting Mozilla's Guinness record attempt. I should put up a graphic on the site/forum main pages to promote the event - shame I'm so sleepy and there's so little time until Download Day.

I wonder if the new Firefox will do an even better job of displaying my interactive level maps. Hmm...

You're still waiting for the Download Day? I am waiting for the official link, but the Download Day is already here.

Mozilla wasn't thinking about the Time Zones. So supposedly, it would be released today, Tuesday, June 19th, 2008, 19:00 h GMT+2.

Although, Mozilla servers seem to be congestioned, all I get in any page is, either a Cannot show web-page or Http/1.1 Service Unavailable.

EDIT: Ooohh, now I get a fancy Repair Page which says:
The service you're looking for is unavailable at the moment. We'll be back up and running again before long, so please try again soon. Thanks for your patience!
Sorry for being annoying but I can hardly wait! :D

EDIT 2: I got it! =)

I love that big back button!
Yay! DKC Atlas looks awesome by the way Qyz! =)

Nice improvement on Firefox 3.0
I've often opened more than 20, 30 tabs and then it usually got much slower. But now there are around 40 tabs and everything is still going fast! :)

I would think that if you had read through this topic, you would understand why people are unhappy with IE. You really should read a topic, and think about how worthwhile your reply is before posting - especially when bumping a several-month-old conversation like this one.

Now that it's been bumped, though... does IE give you any errors when browsing the DKC Atlas main site - such as the level info pages? If so, or if not- please let me know by posting in this topic.

Firefox.
If I didn't I don't think I would post in fear of Qyz eating me alive.

That aside, I was stuck using Safari (super old school version) the last week or so because my PC died. A 0.8ghz laptop mac, the joys.

Well, I use IE7 on two of my computers (my laptop and the office computer), IE6 on one of my computers (the one in my mom's room, which is used like 3 times a year since it's Windows 98...), and I use my Wii's Internet Channel sometimes (I use it when my somebody uses my laptop).

You guys ever heard of the Nintendo DSi? Well, in an application store on there, you can download an internet browser for free. BUT, it doesn`t have flash, and some pages don`t load.... but, it`s the only option since my offices computer is fragile enough, there are viruses out there. I use my neighbors internet for this. (They don`t have a clue) To sum it up, I use the DSi browser.

Ah, I hadn't considered the DSi browser, but perhaps I should keep it in mind while I develop the 'DKC Atlas Mobile' forum/site portals I'm working on. My brother has a DSi, so I should be able to borrow it from time to time to do compatibility/optimisation tests.

It's a pretty darn decent browser. There are still a few things I have to iron out to get the Atlas fully Chrome-optimised, but it's certainly worth the effort. :geek:

I still use Firefox, it's quick, it's fast, it's sexy, and has a very god DL manager.

I think I'll just stick with that.

Finally! :D The DSi browser can be hard to use, and most pages take a lifetime to load, so I'm happy to know someone is considering the DSi. Still, it's a pretty good browser, and at least it displays moving GIFs (unlike the iPhone). Meanwhile, I guess I'll keep using Firefox (the best browser ever) and my Wii's Internet Channel.

Thx Qyzbud for considering the DSi. I`d be great for something compatable with this browser, it`s slower than a turtle BUT faster than a rabbit on DKC Atlas forum. (?) Ah well... good luck Qyz.

Yay! I'm using the DSi browser right now, and it's much faster than the regular DS browser. It's also really fun and easy to use . . . but I was hoping that it would support Flash this time around. Ah well! Can't wait for DKC Atlas Mobile, Qyz.

I used Firefox for a while(I now have high speed internet, and have thus been experimenting with various browsers), but now I use Chrome. It's shiny. Besides, having IE, Firefox, and Google Chrome gives me options, so I can switch back and forth whenever my heart desires.
