Hi people!

I'm Jeff_Ray Barrels. If you wish to know, the Jeff_Ray is an username I use a lot, and the Barrels is to fit the website.
I like anything related to creating things, which is why I am hyped by any game that could have a level editor (sometimes it led me to disadvantages, since I got Dewy's Adventure for the Wii, but found out the editor was crap). I only have DKC2, which is a game that my father had back in the times I was still a baby, but I now have the consoles, and DKC2 alongside it. I then bought that same game on the VC (D'oh) and I'm up to the Bayou world right now. I am quite interested in the DKC Level Builder project because of that.

I hope I will enjoy this place!

Thanks for signing up, and introducing yourself. I'm Qyzbud, the author of DKC Atlas. I usually spend more time working on the Atlas itself than being sociable on the forum here, but I thought I'd take a break to welcome you - so, welcome!

As a fan of DKC2, you'll be glad to know that volume two of DKC Atlas is just around the corner. Diddy's Kong Quest was the game that made me a fan of the DKC series, so it's special to me, too. :D

Hello, I'm an avid DKC player (I have a 101% save file on my DKC cartridge), and I like the first two DKC's more than the third. I got DKC a few months after it was released as a present, and loved the series ever since. I was amazed when I first discovered the site from a poster on the DKC2 Gamespot board (I don't actively go there, I just browsed a random topic) by the layout, the information, and the level maps - the entire atlas is very well done. I also tried the challenges (And beating only a few), which were fun. I registered this account to suggest a few challenges that I made up and tested (Which I will post in a bit), and hopefully help some other ways.

Postby Katastrophe Kong » February 18th, 2009, 11:19 am

Hey all, I'm Katastrophe Kong :D .

I found out about this awesome website through Google one day while looking for some good DKC fan sites and I came across this marvelous website! So I finally decided to join up.

I have known about Donkey Kong Country since I was about 5 or 6 years old, and it is one of my most favorite game series ever. I own all of the DKCs, the GBA versions of them, and all of the DKLs. But I don't own a SNES so I only have the DKC trilogy on my computer as ROMs, but I have a Wii so I will buy them from the Wii shop channel. I'm pretty sure I have a poster of DKL1 waiting to be put up in my room someday.

I'm not so big on Jungle Beat but I do like DK64, and King of Swing. I have a Nintendo DS so I hope to obtain Jungle
Climber some day since I heard it's like King of Swing.

I am 100% sure I will enjoy my stay here

I'm in the same boat as edvore, I needed resources. I reasoned that any even remotely popular game would have a fan-made resource extractor specific to it. I searched Google, I found the YouTube videos, and then in a roundabout way it led me here...so I guess I'm also in the same boat as LOLSpark.

I was in maybe 7th grade when Donkey Kong Country was released, I got really exited about it. I remember drawing Donkey from a cereal box promoting it. They weren't very good drawings mind you, I gave him a duck bill, drew his nostrils way too big, and forgot the chest muscles. I got better though, and I drew DKC/DKC2 fanart all the way up into high school. I didn't own a copy until much later, but I was able to borrow it and the sequel from a few people. I remember having a bunch of friends over when I beat the first one, and we all laughed at Donkey and Diddy fighting before the credits.

I really like Jungle Beat, you guys. It's AWESOME. I bought it brand new for $15! It was the only fresh gamecube game I owned - I'm always behind on consoles and have to buy used, you see. I'm reluctant to play it lately though, I let a friend borrow it and he LOST THE CASE AND MANUAL. How can you fail to keep track of a DVD case? It's MUCH larger than the disc, even. Of course I'd rather he lost the case than the game, but that's still pretty ironic! AND ANNOYING! HOW CAN ANYONE BE SO IRRESPONSIBLE

Sorry about that.

Back to DKC resources. I've been lurking in the DKCRE thread as a guest for a while, and tonight I saw Simon was on and finally decided to join to tell him he's doing a great job and I'm chomping at the bit for the next release, hopefully in such a way that would sound encouraging, and not demanding. He's here, so he'd see it right away! But then I thought, wait, what if he's updating the thread right now?. Such a post would look really silly right before his, and especially right after, my timing what it usually is on forums. He was gone by the time I signed up, so either way it's moot, I guess. I'll still head back over there after I'm done with this very post. Which is now.

In short, I think Donkey Kong Country is a pretty cool guy. eh fights Kremlings and doesn't afraid of anything.

What, this old thing? Oh, you guys!

I made this thing years ago for completely different forum, but I have a renewed interest in editing DKC graphics. If Donkey is going to be in a DKC2 type game, he needs animations for climbing two ropes, and riding Squawks, hanging from hooks, and so on.

Also, who the heck is Arby 'n' the Chief?

Uh . . . Where'd you get the last bit saying he "doesn't afraid of anything"? The only place I've heard that is from a Machinima series based on Halo 3 called Arby 'n' the Chief. If you haven't, you should check it out. It's hilarious.

"i think <character's media title> is a pretty cool guy. eh <character's legendary exploits> and doesn't afraid of anything" is a pretty prevalent meme. I'm vaguely certain that it originates from 4Chan.
